Dimming control system has 2 functions: auto and manual adjustments. It has 2 working status ‘day-time/night-time’, as well as 3 working modes ‘night vision/normal/thunderstorms. The working principle is mainly as follows: Under auto status, through dimming control board in each area, the system collects signals from light sensors, switch signals from ‘night vision/normal/thunderstorms’ modes, as well as status signals from ‘day-time/night-time’. The signals are processed by processor board, then a data package is created. The package is dispatched via data bus to the power control unit. After parsing by the processor board on power control assembly, light control signals will be output to control the brightness of main lighting systems.
Under manual adjustment, the system collects signals from dimmer locator from each area and knobs signals, then outputs corresponding lighting control signal, in view of current working mode and working status, to control the brightness of main lighting systems in each area. Also equipped is the sub system for lighting, which are controlled by individual dimming control knobs. Dimming control module produces PWM control signals to adjust the brightness of individual lights. Sub system for lighting in each area is powered directly by 28V DC power supply from the aircraft. It provides lighting for the cockpit under various situations by controlling switches equipped and adjustment signals.
Dimming control system is generally composed of control board, power control units, light sensors as well as various luminaries
